Allow myself to (re)introduce myself

As we ease into 2022 it feels like a good time to (re)introduce myself. Here some key points to share in the form of a Q&A:

Hiking in Oregon // October 2021

Q: I thought you moved to OBX?

A: Rob and I moved to OBX for the last 3 months in 2020. It was a magical time to be at the beach and see the sunrise over the ocean nearly every day. Camden loved being a beach pup and I grew to love the sand in my bed every night. We'll continue to spend part of our summers in OBX as this is a special place for our family. The fall OBX trip was a much needed respite from the hectic pace of 2020.

Q: Sweet, so you're back in B'more! Whatcha up to?

A: The biggest change is that I'm no longer with Seawall as my full time job. After nearly 6 years helping teachers find awesome homes in Baltimore and doing community work in Remington, it was time for me to move on. I’m in the transition process of making health + wellness a full-time career. This is an idea (much more than an industry) I have been interested in and passionate about for years. 2022 is the year of the PIVOT and I’m pumped to see what opportunities comes my way. I’m still teaching yoga and meditation as well as helping folks with doTERRA essential oils.

Q: Where can I find your public yoga classes?

A: I'm teaching at Movement Gym in Hampden (formerly EarthTreks) Mondays at 5:30 pm and at Merritt in Canton Tuesdays at 6:30 am. So if you’re a morning bird or a night owl, there is a class for you. If you’re not a member at either of these spaces, reach out to me about getting a guest pass. I’m also open to private and corporate clients including sports teams and athletes of all ages. Send me an email to inquire about prices and availability.

Q: So is teaching yoga the only thing you’re doing right now?

A: It's certainly ONE thing I'm doing but in true Gemini fashion, I have lots of projects I’m working on and things I’m interested in. What I am most excited about is a Health Coaching certification program with Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN.) I'll graduate in June and I'm pre-registering clients now. I'm a Wellness Consultant with doTERRA and happy to set up a consultation for how essential oils can be added to elevate your healthy lifestyle. I’m leading monthly journaling sessions with Yoga Advocates. I'm reiki 2 and love including this healing modality into yoga and meditation sessions.

My experience and trainings in oils, yoga, journaling, reiki, etc are being pulled together now in the coolest way! It feels great to have this alignment!

Q: What races are you signed up for in 2022?

A: Honestly, I’m not sure if I will be signing up for any races this year. I didn’t participate in any competitive running in 2020 or 2021 and I was okay with that. I LOVE the energy of a big race, both as a participate and a volunteer so the “virtual options” of the last 2 years didn’t really appeal to me. My last marathon was Montana in June of 2019 which was such an epic race that I’m okay if it was my last one for a while. I’m still running 2-3x a week but no races on the books just yet. I would be open to.a destination half marathon in a cool area so LMK if you have something in mind.

Q: Soup Sunday! Are you doing it this winter?

A: Of course! My love for soup and vegetarian cooking have only intensified during the pandemic. I’ll be posting pics on social media and you can follow my “Soup Sunday” page on Pinterest. Mostly, I encourage you to get creative and experiment in the kitchen, it’s an easy way to get out of your comfort zone. Soup Sunday is not only a great way to meal prep for the week but nice to make extra for a friend.

Q: You love traveling, have you been able to do this in the pandemic?

A: I’ve been lucky to travel to a few places domestically and internationally in the last 23 months:

India (February 2020)

OBX (May + June of 2020, July of 2021)

Montana and Wyoming (September 2020)

Key Largo and various parts of Florida (March + May 2021)

Spain (July 2021)

West Virginia and upstate New York (August 2021)

Oregon, Washington and California (October 2021)

Turks and Caicos (December 2021)

The travel was awesome and I am grateful to have been able to continue to do this safely, even in the pandemic. Travel is a big part of my life as it allows me to expand my consciousness, empathy and capacity for resilience. Travel is not just about the destination. It’s the way we get there, who we’re with and all the steps in the process.

Q: What about that cute husband and adorable labrador?

A: They're the best, right? Our little family is my greatest joy and I love all the adventures we have together! Rob and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary in April of 2022 (although we’ve known each other for over 20 years!) and Camden turned 9 in December of 2021.
